Comercial Project
A mysterious miasma spreads across the world, turning local wildlife into terrifying monsters. Guild of Hunters is a turn-based RPG where you recruit new members for your guild, negotiate item prices, and embark on adventures across various regions of a medieval world.
I joined the project during its development phase — Guild of Hunters is the first title by the indie studio Sunny Horizon. My main goal was to bring organization to the team and structure clear, accessible documentation. I was also responsible for:
-
Setting up and organizing game documentation in Miro
-
Designing and writing the in-game tutorial
-
Analyzing player testing and feedback
-
Implementing UX improvements during combat
-
Prototyping onboarding and communication strategies
Challenge and Solution
During early playtests, we noticed that many players struggled to understand what to do at the beginning of the game and found certain actions confusing during combat. To improve this, I focused on two key areas:
-
Intro Tutorial: I created a simple and effective tutorial that guides the player during their first moments in the game, helping them understand the basic mechanics without overwhelming them or breaking immersion.
-
Combat Feedback Improvements: We added clearer visual and sound feedback for player actions like attacking, hitting enemies, and interacting with the environment. This made the gameplay more intuitive and satisfying.
Upgrade System Design
I also contributed to the design and balancing of the game's upgrade system — a core part of the gameplay loop. Each time the player levels up, they choose one of four random upgrades, allowing for different builds and playstyles. The goal was to maintain a sense of progression, variety, and strategic depth while keeping things easy to understand.
About the Game
Guild of Hunters is planned for release on PC, Nintendo Switch, Xbox, Android, and iOS in November 2025. Being part of this project gave me the chance to apply my skills in UX design, tutorial creation, and documentation, while collaborating with a passionate and talented team building their first commercial title.
